See How Easily You Can Rank #1 Your Website in 2019-Google Voice Assistant.

Once the story of pure science fiction, voice-based artificial intelligence (AI)is now a striking reality. Thanks to the assistance of A.I. like Alexa, Siri, and the google voice assistant device, we’re now at the junction in time where it’s entirely possible to listen to the news, forecast the day’s weather, send a text message, and start watching a video about the possible ways to fold your socks without even looking up from your morning cereal or just touching a device. If you’re an Android user, nothing is more enchanting than the Google Voice Assistant. It’s right there in your phone, it can be in your living room, and it’s out there to help you on the road.

Google’s artificial intelligence is as useful or subtle as you might want it to be. But it hasn’t always been that particular way. Artificial intelligence has gone from bang a science fiction to an integral part of our daily lives in the span of just a few short years and in the case of Google Voice Assistant, it has made a way into our homes and lives without doing much other than modifying our lifestyle.

Here’s the history of how Google’s artificial intelligence has come to dominate the Android world.

The past is now Google now explore interests version 1470692246 header More, Looking back up at the Google Voice Assistant’s family tree, it is very much clear that Google’s A.I. has descended from at least two previous services. The earliest part of Google Voice Assistant was Google Voice Search. Voice Search made its starting on Android SmartPhone’s and Chrome for desktop PCs way back in June 2011, and while its functionality was very elementary by today’s standards, being able to give your phone voice commands marked a starking change in the way we were interacting with technology. But Google Now saw the real shift in artificial intelligence. Based on Google Voice Search, development of Google Now was renamed “Majel” — after Majel Barrett, wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and voice of the computer in many Star Trek series.

While Google Now wasn’t exactly a comprehensive computer, it formed the blue print of the Google’s Assistant’s highly personalized feed. First introduced in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google Now did everything from delivering your schedule, predicting weather, and other useful information in a well-crafted series of cards and notifications, guiding you if you needed to leave early for an appointment in order to avoid traffic, or telling you about the nearby restaurants. Later updates brought about Gmail integration, and it was even integrated onto iOS devices as a part of the iOS Google Search app.

Like Voice Search, you even shower questions on Google Now— but unlike its predecessor, you would get responses spoken out loud to you, marking an important jump towards a true A.I. experience. While useful, Google Now’s ability to converse was extremely limited, and it wasn’t equipped with the sort of clever conversations Google Voice Assistant is now known for. Most importantly, Google Now has now introduced an iconic phrase that would become one of the milestones of the Google Voice Assistant experience — the “OK Google” buzz word.

The birth and growth of Google Voice Assistant The Story continues…..

Google Now was a change in how we interacted with our phones — but Google Voice Assistant was the mirror of the future. Despite that big statement, Google’s Assistant began its life as a minimal extra on Google’s Allo chat app. Its first job was to just pop up during chats as and when required, or when invited. It wasn’t perfect — and Google was still clearly keeping it at arm’s length from the rest of its services — but it was just the starting. Google Voice Assistant’s development was being handled differently from anything before it — as can be seen by Google’s hiring of Google Doodle head Ryan Ger mick and ex-Pixar animator Emma Coats to give the Assistant more life.

But it wasn’t long before Google Voice Assistant broke free from all the bondage, coming number one as a stand-alone feature to the original Google Pixel and the Google Home, before also coming onto other smartphones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above in the year 2017. This usefulness of Assistant is probably the first time we saw the modern Assistant, with an interface that could be summoned with the Home button and the ability to respond in a much more conversational manner.

Though the initial version featured some widening gaps between capabilities on mobile and Home speakers, Google filled up that gap as the months went by and quickly introduced Assistant functionality to its other products as well. Last year also saw Google announce its strategy to add its Assistant to Android TV. Easy assistance, no matter wherever you may be Greg Mombert/Digital Trends More.

It wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t mention the impact of Google Voice Assistant on smart speakers. Launched along with the Google Voice Assistant at Google I/O 2016, the Google Home was the definitely the first smart speaker to include Google’s Assistant, though it wasn’t also the last. Google introduced the Google Home Mini in October 2017 — but most noteworthy was the influx of hardware from other key manufacturers with support for the Assistant. Google’s Assistant SDK allowed organizations like JBL and LG to quickly include smart functionality into their hardware, without having to generate their own software. The Assistant also made the enhancement to smarter displays, following Amazon’s footsteps with smarter displays from numerous manufacturers, and ultimately the Google Home Hub. It’s not just a small cluster of manufacturers that are using Google’s A.I. — as of May 2018, Google claimed that more than 5,000 devices are now associated with the Google Voice Assistant.

The future of the Assistant google duplex hands on io2018 2835, So what is the road ahead for the Google Voice Assistant? Based on everything that has happened in the past, Google is nowhere near complete with development of new features, and it is quite possible that it never would be. Will it look back at where we are now the same way as we now look at the basic nature of Google Now?

Google’s latest major introduction to the Assistant is the Duplex — a feature that will authorize the Assistant to call the businesses and book appointments on your behalf. It will reply to questions and alterations in real time, and will use filler words like “um-hm”. It was so satisfying that some people thought it could be used to dupe real people. Thankfully, Google assured the world that disclosure would be built into the software. But Duplex is just the starting of a new era for Google Voice Assistant, and with Google’s software having progressed from voice search to calling businesses in just a small span of seven years, imagine what A.I. would look like in the years to come. Scary? A little. But we’re also enchanted to see Star Trek’s “Majel” introduced into every sphere of our lives.
